Steady Action on the Water with Summer Species in Full Swing
Galveston Bay - Chambers, TX
Fishing out of Galveston has been consistently productive this June, and Rock N Roll Charters is putting clients on the fish daily. With Captain Jim at the helm, anglers are enjoying solid catches both inshore and nearshore, taking full advantage of calm seas and warm Gulf waters.
Inshore Bite: Speckled trout have been active around the jetties and deeper channels, especially during the early morning tide swings. Most fish are hitting live shrimp under popping corks, though soft plastics are also producing when worked slowly. Redfish are showing up in the marshes and along grass edges — many slot-sized, with the occasional oversized brute testing drags.
Nearshore and Jetty Fishing: For those venturing a little farther out, the jetty and nearshore bite has been excellent. Sheepshead, black drum, and Spanish mackerel are being hauled in consistently. Free-lining shrimp near the rocks is a proven tactic, and cut bait has been bringing in some bonus bull reds and jack crevalle.
Shark Trips: The summer shark trips are heating up — literally and figuratively. Blacktips and bonnetheads are common within a few miles of the beach, and Rock N Roll Charters has all the heavy tackle ready for those looking to test their strength.
Family-Friendly Fishing: If you're bringing the kids, the bay trips are perfect. Plenty of action, light tackle, and a good mix of species to keep everyone smiling.
